Henry James Turner, of Devonport, Auckland, cabinetmaker, for the " Excelsior Haemorrhoid Support." Thomas Aickin, of Ponsonby road, Aucklaud, doctor of medicine, for *' An Invention for Destroying Plant Vermin, namely, the whole tribe of aphides, including the phylloxera *>astatrix, and other vermin. destructive to the products of the farm and garden, and also for cleansing and disinfecting soil infested with such vermin, to be called Aickin's Universal Insecticide and Plant-vermin Exterminator." John Paul Miller and Joseph Short Scott, of Nelson, for " A machine to control the froth, which arises through rapid boiling, in jam manufacturers', soap boilers' and brewers' coppers, from overflowing." George M'Hattie, of Palmerston, ploughman, for " A bill-side reversible plough.*' James Bitchie, of Kaikorai, Dunedin, for "An invention for blasting and boring purposes, to be called the torpedo blast • depositor." Edward Samuel Lees, of Oamaru, farmer, for "An improved method of fastening wires to iron fencing standards in such a manner that they are readily secured and readily removed." David Paton Balfour, of Glenrox, ITawke's Bay, station manager, for " The f urrow extender." James Coventry, of Wellington, tinsmith, for "The Coventry mechanical swimming instructor."
