FROM THE DUNEDIN STAR.

DUNEDIN, August 30. The Star denies that the Ministry contains any elements of the continuous Ministry, " whilst, fairly adjusted as to Provincial considerations, there is no prima facie case that the interests of Otago will be neglected. Neither is there a preponderating influence in favour of the South." It declines to say whether it will support the Ministry until they Bhow their policy. " It is neither fair nor reasonable that they should be condemned because they have succeeded a Ministry of whom great things were expected, or because certain popular favourites of the hour are not in the Cabinet. We advocate that they should have fair play, aud full opportunity to disclose their policy. Should the motion of no confidence be carried, it is not by any i means impossible that the Governor may \ consider he has exhausted the available political resources of Parliament, and may on his own responsibility dissolve the same as impracticable, and call another. The Star looks on a coalition as the only way out of the difficulty, although not approving of coalitions. It says : — " However, if Messrs Atkinson, Yogel, and Stout are in the same Ministry, vital interest will be felt through the country as to which has given way on great questions in regard to which their opinions are so entirely different." It looks on the debate and its results as pre-arranged.
