[Rbuteb'b Telegeahs.J LONDON, Jtjnb 6. The match, Australians v. Lancashire, was resumed to-day at Manchester, in fine weather, and before an enormous attendance of spectators. The local team, with five wickets down for 109, continued their first innings, which, after an excellent display of batting on the part of Barlow and Mr H. B. Steel, closed for a total of 195, or 21 ahead of the Australians. The highest scorers for the County were-— Barlow 28, Briggs 46, Steel 41. The fielding of the visitors was excellent, and alone prevented their opponents' score being much larger than it was. After the usual interval, the Australians went in again, and a splendid display of batting ensued, with the resu t that when time was called for the day, 202 runs had been put together, for the loss of only three wickets. The chief contributors were-^Bannerman (bowled) 44, Murdoch (caught) 64, Giffen (not out) 79. LONDON, June 7. The match was continued to-day. There was again a large attendance, although heavy rain fell at intervals during the day. Owing to the inclemency of the weather play was stopped, and the match drawn. The Australians put together a total (for eight wickets) of 315 before play ceased. The highest scorer was Giffen, 113 ; Spof- i forth (not out) 24. j
