Reply to the City Council.
+ This morning i reply was received at the ■City Council Office to the letter sent by the Council to the Government on the subject of tho increase in the railway tariff. The reply was merely an acknowledgement of tho receipt of the Council's communication, accompanied by a copy of the memorandum sent to other bodies which have remonstrated with tho Government on the subject.
