NEW INSURANCE COMPANY.
DUNEDIN, March 4. - The Reserves Committee of the City j Council and the Botanical Domain Board j have held a conference, with the result I that the former will recommend the City j Council to take over the Botanical | Gardens. A New Zealand Plate Glass Insurance Company has been successfully floated in Dunedin, for the purpose of doing business throughout the Colony. The capital is .£IO,OOO. INYERCARGILL, March 4. The fire at Martin's sawmill was first discovered about midnight, and extinguished as was supposed. Some hours afterwards it again broke out, and • destroyed everything. The insurances were .£llOO, not .£BSO as previously telegraphed. The same night Shand's mill in Centre Bush caught fire, but the flames were extinguished before much damage was done.
