» — At the last meetivg of the Premier Gold Prospecting Association, whioh was held immediately after some specimens of quartz had been reoeired from the party sent out to prospect the gorges of the Bakais, it was re* solved that one of the shareholders should accompany the party on its next expedition. The object of this resolution was two* fold. Firstly, to oonfirm the report of tbe prospeotors as to the future prospects of the Association, and seoondly, that an independent person should personally obtain specimens from the outorop of the reported reef. The shareholder on whom fell the lot to carry out the wishes of the Company returned to town last erening, bearing not only some score of pounds of quartz, bat also every indication that be had faoed severe wind and weather. She quartz btought down is identioal with that previously mentioned in these columns, and although the Association have every reason to believe that they are on the verge of sucoess, until the stone has been submitted to a thoroughly practical test the question of a pajable gold* field in this Province, for the present, remains in abeyance.
