The Seoretary has been instruoted to prepare a statement showing what would be the probable increase in revenue from raising the rates all over— on exports and importß, 50 per oent., exoepting wool, proposed to be raised from 4d to 9d. Walter ' Augustus Nettleton, residing in Kaikorai Valley, while proceeding to South Dunedin on Monday evoning, was observed to fall backwards on the footpath. He was picked up iußonsible and carriod to hiß house, i but never rallied. The doctor who attended , him gave his opinion that the man died from j alooholio poisoning. i The Owake powder mill has been burned I down. No one was hurt. I
