Ohoka and Eyreton Jockey Club.
♦ A meeting of this Olub was held at Mr Champion's office laßt evening. There was a large attendanoe of members. Mr George Bailey, vice-president, oooupied the ohair. Correspondence was read from Messrs Hobbs and Goodwin, and Mason and Bobert, offering totaliaators for the ooming race meeting. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Gallagher—" That tenders be called for the übo of maohines." The programme for tho St Andrew's Baoe Meeting was then arranged. It inoludes eight events, viz., —1. Handicap Hurdle, of 30 sovs. 2. Distriot Handicap Hurdle, of 20 sovs. 3. Distriot Flat Baoe, of 25 sovs, for horseß that have not won an advertised raoe. 4. Ohoka and Eyreton Cup Handicap, of 80 sovs. 5. Handioap Trot, of 20 sova. 6. Farmers' Plate, of 25 bovs. 7. District Hack Bace of 15 sovs; the winner to be sold by auotion, any surplus to go to tho Club. 8. Consolation Handicap of 10 sovs. It was resolved that Messrs Gallagher, Hopkins and Elder be appointed a Committee to revise the rules. On the motion of Mr Burnip, seconded by Mr Way, the late Secretary, Sttr W. Taylor (in coneideration of his valuable assistance to the Olub) was made an honorary member for two years. Mr 0. M. Brooke wao eleoted a member. Mr Taylor proposed and Mr Gallagher seconded — " That all nominations for membership must be aooompanied with . a fee of £1 Ib, to be refunded if tho proposed person be not eleoted." Owing to the fact of a large amount of subscriptions being ih arrears, it was deoided that all subscriptions must be paid on or before Nov. 1, or tbe nameß of defaulters would be struok off. The meeting then adjourned till Oot. 4.
