The meeting decided that the entrance fee for the first 14 days should be 2s 6i, and after then sa, and that tbe weekly contribution should be •__. The Treasurer reported that tho priza money in the Junior -Tours had been paid over to the Union Club, owing to the fact that no satisfactory evidence oonld he produced as to the age of one of the Kaiapoi orew, the aubjeot of dispute. The Treasurer's roport and balance-sheet was read, showing, after the payment of all liabilities (whioh included two amounts for advertising, for whioh the last year's Committee were responsible), a balance of £9 18s 2d. The Ohairman considered the report highly satisfactory, especially as the Committee had liquidated debts whioh were not -ontemplated. The balance • sheet was adopted, and with a vote of thanks to the Chairman, the meeting adjourned.

Nominations for the North Canterbury Coursing Club's meeting, to be run on Thursday, August 9, and following days, olose on Saturday, August 4, at 7 p.m. The Oourt Thistle of the Forest, A.0.F., Sydenham, held its half-yearly meeting on Tuesday evening last for the installation of officers, whioh took place after the usual routine business of the Oourt. P. 0.8. Bro W. Hoddinott and 08. Bro Craig duly initiated the offioers into their respective dutios. The new offioers having taken their j places, the 0.8. presented Bro W. Hoddinott with a P.0.8.'s neok-ribbonand a handsomely framed certificate, and, in a few appropriate remarks, mentioned that no brother in the j Oourt had worked so hard or had proposed se I great a number of members. It was resolved that those members who had promised subscriptions to the Banner Fund be asked to | hand their amounts in, to enable the members jto deoide what sized banner to order. The distriot delegate gave a report of the last distriot meeting in connection with the amended by-laws reoeived from tbe Begistrar of Friendly Societies. It was deoided to hold the next open meeting on July 24. One member was initiated and five proposed for membership. The receipts for the quarternight amounted to £46 14s 6d. An entertainment took plaoe in tbe Heathcote Valley District Sohoolroom on Thursday evening, the object being to raise funds for Sunday school purposes. The ohair was oooupied by his Worship the Mayor of Lyttelton, who opened the meeting with a brief addreßß referring to Sunday school work. There was a full house, whioh must have proved satisfactory to the numerous friends who had interested themselves in the cause. Vocal selections were given by the Misses Kent, Midgley and Amos, Mesdames 0. M. Gray, B. T. Searell and Amos, Mesirs T. Butland, B. T. Searell, Bmith and Knight. The various items were well rendered, and, judging by the hearty applause and the numerous encores, the programme was thoroughly enjoyed. Mr Knight presided at the piano, kindly lent for the oooasion by Mr M'Dowell. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the ladits and gentlemen who had so efficiently carried out the programme, and to the Ohairman. It will doubtless be interesting to all concerned to know that about £7 will be plaoed to the credit of the Sunday sohool.
