In spite of the weather, which was very cold, with driving rain ab intervals, it fair muster of people made their way by special train and road to the Plumpton Park to witness the concluding trials in the contest for the " blue ribbon of the leash." PITBSB. 111. Sea Drift boat Sir Ueorge Alchemist bett Spot. Gran-n-Wail beat Queen o'Scote. Tan Dieman a bye. , PliTB. 11. Taraban beat Bridegroom (1) Miranda beat Flora M'lvor. ' Bordeaux a bye. Araucaria drawn. Mermaid a bye. FtTBSH : Third round.— Sir George eecurtd first turn, about eight lengths in front of Seadrift, and Boored very freely, being a bit fatter at the work, but a grand hare lived long enough to enable Seadrift to rub out his opponent's sore, and staying better, he won, when Sir George made a dashing kill, the course being a long one. To a hare which came slowly from slips, Spot led by a more trifle. When they .reached her Spot put her round, and Alchemist secured the second turn, dririog he fell, and Spot scored. Alohemiat raced past, and some exchanges followed, both dogs falling. Alohemist then flecked the hare, but failed to hold it, and both dogs scored again, Alchemist finishing with a kill. Gran-u-wail won a good trial with plenty in hand, Queen o' Bcots paly securing the lead up and tarn and a point or two near the end of the course. Van Dieman ran a bye. Watbbioo Plate.— Second Bound : Taraban and Bridegroom ran an undecided. Miranda ran a rattling . trial with Flora M'lvor, and had her well beaten for paoe and cleverness, when she killed. Bordeaux ran an accidental bye in the absence of Araßcaria, who pulled up yesterday in his trial dead lame. Taraban easily disposed of Bridegroom by leading him, and being fatter all through the course, as well as oleverer, finishing with a good kill. Mermaid ran a natural bye.
