[f BB PBBBB ABBOOIATIOW.] AUCKLAND, July 18. At the sale of Crown lands to-day, rural seotion prices ruled high, the upiet prices being frequently doubled and trebled. The total proceeds were £6000. At the civil ssMions, the case of Garrard v. Thomas Cotter, Begistration Officer of City North, for false imprisonment for alleged breach of the Registration of Elector* Aofc, claim £500 damage*, waa diamiiaed. Garrard's was No. 7 on the list, but through the previous oases being settled and struck off it came on unexpectedly to him, and he being out of Court at the time, it was dealt with as above.

A new house, unoccupied, at Bosebank, Avondale, belonging to W. Thornton, waa burned down early this morning. Inoendiarism ia auapected. The building was uninsured ; loss £300.

The first Salvation Army soirla was held to-night in Bt James' Hall. One thousand sat down to ten in relays. Not a single oity olergyaaan was present. Addresses were giv«n, among others, by the Bey G. Bond (Weakyan), Onehunga, Messrs Bamford and Dorman, and Mesdames Dorvan and Philips. The three latter are American Evangelists. The Frozen Meat Company absorbs Fisher and Company's (Limited) butohering and tinning business. The Directors join the new Board. Mr Banks, Managing Director has put £10,000 in the new concern, and the other Directors take a large interest. A powerful Board has been formed. Mr Banks has gone to America and England to send out experts in tinning and preierving, and the best appliances for freezing. It ia hoped to have chilled chambers both »n the East and West Coatt, and suitable steamers to carry meat to Auckland, where provision will be made for ample storage, so that steamers for England can have cargo ready and be loaded in a few honrß. Efforta will be made to have operations in full working order in a year.
