England, E. H. Banks, B. Hale, P. Duncan, B. H. Wood, 0. Hull, D. Uooie, F. Jenkins, R. Allan. Fifty-seven applications for the position of Secretary were received and cossidered, with the result that Mr J. B. dheath was elected to tho office. A letter was rend from Hii Worship the Major of Chrhtchurch, thanking tho Committee for hie eleotion, promising his co-operation in the work, iMict apologising for his non-attendance. Mr George Coleman also wrote, expressing his sympathy with the objects of the Committee, but eVatiug that he could not attend the meetings during the winter, on account of his living so far from town. Apologies for nonattendance were reoeived from Profeesor von Haas!, and Messrs J. P. Jameson and Scott. On toe motion of Mr Hull, seconded by Mr AH&b, it waß resolved — " That a corresponding Bub-Committeo be appointed, to consist of the officers of the Committee, with Messrs T. S. Weßton and W. R. Mitchell." On the pro« position of Mr Beeee, eeoonded by *Mr Jonkine, Mcsara Weaton, Allan, Hull, Mitohell, and Holland were appointed to draw up regulations for the Exhibition, After socae conversation on the question of advertising, and other matters of a preliminary nature, it was reeolved, on the mofion of Mr Allan, eoconded by Mr Hull—" That the mm of £50 be placed at the disposal of the Corresponding Committee, for tho purpose of defraying the expense of advortisicg." After some routine business, the meeting adjourned.
