There is a *tory of An e\derly parly who was made sentimentally unhappy by the charms of a leading aotress, and intended to express his feelings by throwing her, a splendid bouquet on the eveniug of her benefit. He scoured a box, provided himself with the choicest flowers the local florists could furnish, *nd gave a recherdhe little dinner to three friends to whom he had confided his intention, and whom he also asked to share hit box. The bouquet lay resplendent near bis hand all the erening ; but fee was so engrossed in the performance that one of hie companions, *n unconscw2ablo wag, out the string that bound the flowers together through and through. Of course when the moment came for throwing it to the lady, all the blosssoms distributed themselves indiscriminately amongst tiw oooupants of the pit and the members of tba orchestra, amidst roars of laughter from the audience generally, and Jronioal oheen from the " upper story."
