[SPBOIAL TO THB " BTAB."] WIMATB, Nov. 17. At tho nomination yesterday Samuel Witham Goldsmith was elected Mayor of Waimate, and also aa the Borough representative under the Timaru High School Act. He was unopposed for both positions. The Hon W. Bolleaton, attended by tho member for the district, the Mayor elect and the County Engineer, visited a number of reserves near the town, referred to by Mr Stoward last session. The Minister left for Oamaru by tho express. Permission has been given Alpheua Hayea by the Borough Oounoil to construct a tramway under tho Private Tramways Aot.
