The members of ths Boyal Commission on the South Island Trunk Bailway route have decided to travel over all the rival routss, and to inspect them personally with the utmost thoroughness before taking any oral evidence on the subject. They are now going over the ground in Marlborough and North Canterbury, and on completing their personal ocular examiaatiom they will commence taking evidence in Christchurch.
