Bib, — The following letter explains why I deemed it advisable to scratoh Betrayer for all his engagements. — I am, &o. t GKO. G. STEAD. " Ohristchuroh, Nov. 6, 1882, 1 p.m. "Dear Sir,— l am still of opinion that Betrayer's 'leg' is from the effects of a blow, and although I hoped it would nob interfere with his preparation, I now find that his last gallop on Friday has caused the leg to fill, and, thorofore, 1 think it will be safer not to raa him to-morrow. — I am, ico., "E.
