WOOLSTON TOWN DISTRICT.

An ordinary meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the Woolston Town District was held last evening at the Publio Library, Woolston ; present — Messrs Hopkins (Chairman), York, M'Diarmid, Ticknor, O'Neill, Oolcs, and Attwo'od. Tho Chairman said he had received a letter from the Heathcote Road Board re the adjustment of acoounts, stating that tho Board had passed a resolution to sell their property for tho purpose of division, and would meet the Oommisßioncrß at 2 p.m. on Oct. 20, in order to arrange •<« division of accounts. A letter had also ! -n received from tho same body, enclosing >■ ■ tunuiuntoation from Moatre J. and A. Ande.v - , concerning a bridge over the Heathcote. > Ih< Ohairinan of the Library Committee had wrilton, stating that the Commissioners could have tho uso of the Library for their meetings on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings, at a oiiar<?o of 6s per night. The first business was the consideration of Mr S. Manning's Jotter with regard to the terms on which private roads should bo taken over by the Board, Mr M'Diaraid moved — " That no roads be taken ovor lest than throe-quarters of a chain in width ; all roads to be taken over from tho vendors of property, and all to bo properly formed and metalled." Mr Ticknor seconded tho motion. Mr O'Neill moved, as an amendment — " That any owner of 20 or 40 acres of land wishing to cut it up for sale in quarter-aero sections, eh e 11 form and mako the roads, the Commissioners to motal paruo." Mr Attwood seconded tho amendment. Tho motion was Bupportod by Messrs York and Coles. Mr O'Neill moved, as an iimondraont— "That the question bo adjourned to noxt meeting, in ordor that tho Works Committee might report, on tho works requiring to bo done."
