Arrived— City of New York, at 2 a.m. She sailed from San Francisco on July 30, at 2 p.m. For tha first day oat she experienced a heavy sea, and from tiie Tonga Group to Auckland strong south-westers and a heavy southerly swell. She stopped off the Island of Eutupia, ona of the Navigator Group, and discharged three passengers, and wa* thus delayed 23 minutes. Mr A. H. Hogan, a cabin passenger, died on the passage. Passengers: For Auckland — Messra Giandprice, Jarri. , Mandara, Hadfield, Mrs Hadfield and ohild. Mm Weldon, MiasAg-isa Prendergast. and 6 in the steerage. Among the cart° are 1170 cases of salmon, 25 flasks of quicksilver, 53 sacks of barley, 200 boxes of apples. Arrived— Arawata, sa. She has gone down to the Quarantine Island. Sailed-Star of the South, for Westport, vii Wellington. Hoxitixa, August 23. Arrived— Hero, from Dnnedin. She leaves tomorrow morning, for Melbonrne, talcing 22 passengers and 33130z ot gold, shipped by the Bank of New Zealand from this port.
