SOCIETIES,
The ordinary meeting of the Loyal City of Norwich Juvenile Brunch, Lyttelton, took placo last night. There was a large attendance of members and visitors, three candidates were initiated and two proposed for membership. The balance-sheet for the past half-year was received and adoDted, and a vote of thanks accorded to the auditors — P.G.s T. Ockford and J. Clifford for their k'ndneis in auditing the Lodge accounts. A •ompetition then took place for a prize offered for the bestßong, and resulted in Bro S. Meesiter carrying off tho same, after which tho Lodge closed in due form.
1.0.G.T.— 0n Monday last a new Lodge of the above Order was instituted at Kirwee, under the name of the Pride of the Plains, with very satisfactory results. The officers of the Providence Lodge of Courtenay were all present, and the opening of tho Lodge was satisfactorily conducted under the superi: - tsndence of the D.D. Fourteen members were initiated, and five by clearance card. The following is the list of officers :— W.O.T., Bro Anderson; W.V.T., Bro Hackettj W. 8., Bro Jenninga ; "WYF.S., Bro Drummond ; W.T., Sister dimpson ; W.C., Sister Hackett ; W.M., Bro Voylo ; 1.G.. Bro J. Anderson ; 0.G., Bro E. Simpson; L.D., Bro W. J. Simpson. A hearty vote of thanks to the installing officer and his assistants terminated the proceedings.
