Twenty cases have been discovered and traced to tho Sandwich Islands. There is also a small-pox epidemic in San Francisco. An influential San Francieco journal has been advocßting a reciprocating treaty between the States of America, New Zealand, and Australia. Brazil. 60 bandits, concerned in the sacking of towns, have been killed. The inundations in Santa Catherina have been attended with great loss of life and property. r J Peru. The Chinese employsd by the Peruvians hare joined the invaders. Tho Chilians have landed to force San Lorinza. The attempted mediation by the United Statrs and the British has been abandoned. Neither Peru nor Chili would compromise. In Southern Chili the Indians are plunderin-; and massacring the whites. The Chilian Government are straining every nerve to effect the capture of Lima, hoping to end the war.
