HOLY TRINITY. AVONSIDE.
The pretty suburban church of Avonside was very tastefully decorated with flowers and greenery. The rich colouring in the newer portion of the church obviates the necessity for any large amount of decoration. Such designs as were used, however, were happily in keeping with the ornate architecture, and the flowers which had been employed were exceedingly choice. It was abundantly evident that to the ladies who had been engaged in tho work tho task was a labour of love. Ab was the case last year, the font was very prettily decorated, and the gaseliers and window frames were ornamented with lightly constructed wreaths. The services consisted of vigil service on the Eve and celebration of Holy Communion at 8 and 11 a.m. on Chrißtmas morning. The music was mostly plain Bong with featnl harmonies and carols, including " A Song for the Times," by Dr Neale. The matin service was the last published by Dr Stainer. At the early celebration there were a great many communicants, but very few were present at the mid-day celebration.
