The people of Rangitikei, a district of 'Wellington, are bestirring themselves about the introduction of trout. From the local Advocate we learn that a meeting was held a few daj-s ago, when it was determined to communicate with the curator < of the Chriatohurph Acclimatisation Society, to ascertain the time when, and the terms upon which, a supply can be obtained, it being understood that an experienced man would be send in charge of the shipment ; and . also to canvass the district to raise a Bum of money, not less- than £50, for the purpose. A gentleman whose trade Las been that of a : salmon-fisher, spoke very highly of the Biver •Bangitikei for trout and salmon breeding, and said he would bo willing to give £5 for a small quantity of trout ova, on their arrival, for the purpose of stocking a lake on his property. •About twenty-five guineas were subscribed in ■■ the room.
