ANGLING SOCIETY.

f A mooting of intending license holders during next; trout fishing season was held lasfc evening at tbe Commercial Hotel, for the purpose of forming an Angling Society. After discussion it was resolved that a Society be formed to bo called the " Canterbury Angling Society." A Provisional Committee was appointed to draw up rules, &c, to be submitted afc a general meeting. Tho question of the use of ground bait last season was fully discussed, and a resolution carried stipulating certain baits wliich should only be allowed to bo used during the coming season. This resolution it was decided to request the Acclimatisation Society fco have legalised.
