CANTERBURY LICENSED VICTUALLERS' ASSOCIATION.
A very large and influential meeting of the trade, nofc confined to tho Licensed Victuallers' Association waa held last evening afc Morton's Hotel, for tho purpose of considering a revision of the Licensing Laws and the Local Option Bill of Mr Saunders. The following gentlemen wore appointed by tho meeting to represent Canterbury in tho proposed Conference .—Messrs H. Sawtell, S. Manniug, J. W. Morton, and E. Hiorns. It was decided to telegraph to the othor Assooiations in the Colony, proposing Wellington as the most suitable place for the Conference — the Canterbury delegates being prepared to leave for that city on Ocfc 20, and the meetings of the Conferenco to bo held as soon after that date as passible.
