CHRISTCHURCH REGATTA.

Last night a numerously attended meeting of the Committee was held at White's Hotel, Mr Wynn Williams in the chair. The minutes of last meeting having been read and confirmed, the rules for the respective events at the regatta were drawn up. It was resolved to add a sweepstake — fouroar race, 10s 6d each, with £5 added, for crews who have not won a prize in any fouroar race during the day ; and a pair-oar gig race, Ist prize, £3; 2nd prize, £2. The tender of Mr T. B. Thompkins at £15 for two refreshment booths was accepted, tenderer to have the use of the C.R. Club's boat-shed for providing a luncheon at 2s 6d per head for the general public. It was resolved that the interval for luncheon should be immediately after the Boys' Race. The treasurer announced that the funds in hand were over £100. Messrs Williams and Glassford were appointed to draw up a programme for sale on the ground during the regatta. Captain Rose, Captain Wrankmore, and Mr Balfour (treasurer) were added to the committee for the day. It was decided that the pair-oar gig race should be restricted to boats not exceeding 25 feet in length. The Rev. E. A. Lingard waß appointed to get the boats together for each race, and Messrs Herdson, Crosbie. Glassford, and Wood were elected as a committee to attend | to the general preparations for the Regatta. The tender of the Cavalry Band (12) to perform during the day for £10 10s was accepted, and it was resolved to start the first race at 11 a.m. The committee for the day were requested to meet at the boat sheds at nine o'clock on the morning of the regatta. The meeting then terminated.
