Nelson, April 19, 5.30 p.m. At the Nelson races, there was but a small attendance. The following are the results: — Maiden Plate, 1£ miles — Mr Stafford's Mist, 1 ; Mr Sellon's Misseltoe, 2. Four ran; time, 2 mm. 28secs. Turf Club Handicap, lf miles — Mr Redwood's Peeress, 1 ; Mr Stafford's Magenta, 2 ; Mr Stafford's Lacenfeed, 3. Eour ran ; time. 3min. 20secs. The "Waimea Plate was won by Mr Page's Rainbow; Songstress being second. For the Ladies' Purse, heats, l^miles, Mr Redwood's Misfortune thoroughly beat Mr Stafford's Rapid Rhone. Two ran, and it was a poor race. Criterion Plate, £ mile — Peeress, 1 ; Lacenfeed, 2; Mr Redwood's Songstress, 3. Four ran. The racing generally was poor.
