«■ • CHRISTCHURCH. This Dat. <Before C. C. Bowen, Esq., R.M., G. Packe, and J. Ollivier, Esqrs.) Drunkenness.— George Doig and James Cox, for having been drunk and incapable yesterday, were respectively fined 10s and 5s Vagrancy. — Alfred Montgomery was brought up in custody, charged with th's offence. Constable Willis stated that, late last night, he saw prisoner trying several
doors in High street, and knowing him to have previously been before the Court, watched him for some time. He then accosted him, and prisoner said he wanted to get into the bank, upon which witness took hira into custody. Prisoner did not deny these particulars, but was remanded until the following day, in order that enquiries might be made as to what work he had lately been doing.
