Discount 2 per cent. ; there are expectations of an advance in consequence of withdrawals from the banks ; long bills 1| to If. I Consols for money, 94y to 94i; account, 94£ to 94|. The arrivals of wool to date amounted to 63,585 bales, including 28, ;08 bales from the Cape. For the next series there will probably be 120,000 bales. The market remained unchanged since the close of last sales. Transactions have been considerable at September rates. According to Stables, Straker, and Co.'s circular the aggregate declared value of exports for the four weeks is — for Melbourne, £430,838 ; for Sydney, £200,743; and for Adelaide, £82,839. The following quantities of goods are reported for Melbourne and Geelong for September — October: — Ale and beer, in bulk, 110 brls ; do, in glass, 2018 doz ; salt, 1120 tons; brandy, 14,202 gals ; Geneva, 860 «als; rum, 11,125 gala; British spirits, 15,885 gals ; tobacco and cigars, 7603 lbs, and value £246 ; wines, red, 3444 gals ; do, white, 5519 gala.
