LYTTELTON.
This Day. (Before W. Donald, Esq., R,M.) Drunk, and Disorderly. — George Rosingrave was brought up on this charge and dismissed with a oaution. Refusal of Duty. — Fifteen seamen belonging to the ship King of Italy were brought up on this charge. Mr Nalder appeared for accused, Mr Cotterill for the Captain of tbe ship. Captain Croll stated that the accused were seamen belonging to the vessel ; they had been discharged ; they refused to go on board. Mr Cotterill. pressed for a severe sentence ; there was a . combinaon the part of the 'men to leave the ship. The Bench said that every attention had been
been given to the case; there wai n9?-t ground for refusal ; there was ho alterna- j ' tive but to punish. The sentence would be four weeks' imprisonment. The men asked for their clothes and old discharges. The Court would make no order. Mr Nalder again applied for his expenses in the case, which the Bench granted him.
