LYTTELTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The first show of the above Society took place in the Colonists' Hall this day. The weather was very inclement, and the exhibition was, not nearly so good a one as was expected. In the vegetable department, the exhibits were remarkably good; but in the other classes the exhibits were not very numerous. In pot plants, most of the exhibits were sent by Messrs W. Wilson and Hislop. We are unable to enter minutely into the list of exhibits in the various classes, or to publish the prize list in this evening's issue. Owing most probably to the unfavourable state of the weather, the attendance of visitors was not so large as it would have been under other circumstances. /'
