NOTICES OF MOTION. This Evening. Mr Brown — To ask for leave of absence for Mr D. Davis during the session. Mr Kennatvay — To ask whether the GoTernment intend to introduce an Act to Amend the Education Ordinance. V^ Mr W. Wnsox — To ask if it is the intention of the Government to maintain the staking of the channel of the Heathcote Estuary, and to restore the services of a signal-man for the benefit of the numerous small vessels crossing and re-crossing the Sumner bar. J/ Mr W.Wilson — To ask, if it is the intention or the Government to grant free passes on the Lyttelton and Christchurch Eailway, to the captains of all steamers visiting the Port of Lyttelton, as well as the captains of all ships trading to and from any English port, or the port of any English colony. Mr Peacock— To move, the reply to the address of his Honor the Superintendent. Mr J. S. Williams — To move, that this Council respectfully requests his Honor the Superintendent to take such steps as he may deem expedient for the purpose of procuring the disallowance by her Majesty, of an Act of the General Assembly, intituled the Public Debts Sinking Fund Act, 1868. Mr Brown — To move, for a return showing the number of reserves with their acreage, made in pursuance of resolution of the Council on the Ist of April last. The Provincial Secretary— To move, the appointment of a House and Library Committee, to consist of Messrs Maskell, Fyfe, Kennaway, Davis, Wilson, the Hon. i Ernest Gray, and the mover. The Provincial Secretart — To move the appointment of a standing committee for the purpose of selecting documents laid before the Council for printing, such committee to consist of Messrs Aynsley, Delamain, Ormsby, Hornbrook, and the mover. The Provincial Solicitor — To move for leave to bring in the following bills :— Bill to repeal Education Bate in Aid Ordinance, 1868, Fencing Bill, 1868, Cattle Trespasß Bill, 1868, Diversion of Roads Special Bill, Reserve No. 254 Bill, 1868, Municipal Corporation Reserves Bill, 1868. Wbdnesdat,- Nov. 25. , Mr Johnstone — To move that the Captains of the Panama, New Zealand, anc Australian Royal Mail Company, and th< New Zealand Steam Navigation ' Company^ steamboats be granted free passes en the Lyttelton and Christchurch Eailway.
