•& ; [by electric teleghaph.j "Wellington, Not. 22, 10.10 a.m. Private advices state that no alteration in prices or prospects has taken place in the London wool market. At a meeting of the P.N.Z. Company on Oct. 8, to appoint liquidators for winding up the company, the proposition was rejected, a cablegram stating that the directors were prepared to carry out the Panama contract by their own resources, if necessary. Mr Marshall, an employe of the Royal Mail Company has arrived via Panama to guard their interests. A few mounted Constabulary have been sent to "Wairarapa for despatch purposes in case of need. Mr Batkin has been appointed Paymaster General. 5.30 p.m. A special messenger has just arrived from Wanganui. It is rumoured that Titokowaru is on the Bangitikei side of Wanganui, having crossed over the river. This is very important and alarming news. The messenger is now waiting at Mr Stafford's house for his return from a visit to Archdeacon Hadfield. The details are unknown.
