Welitngton, This day, 11.52 a.m. The following telegrams appear in this morning's Advertiser, having been communicated by the Government. Nameb, Saturday, 4 p.m. v It is now generally understood that the party murdered numberedonly 25. A large party of the enemy are a few miles in the rear of Patutahi, and it is supposed that they are entrenching themselves. 8 p.m. The enemy are still at Patutahi, two or three miles from the scene of the massacre. They have been largely reinforced, and now probably muster 600. Many are known to be out on marauding parties. The enemy consist of the original prisoners, the Upper "Wairoas, the TJreweras, and straggling parties from other tribes. The European force, at present, consists of 50 refugee settlors in the redoubt ; 100 of Poetai's men ; and 70 of Karatiaioa's men, from Napier. They have three good officers — Wesfcrupp, Tuke, and Gascoigne. At Wairoa we have 158 Ngaitpoas, aboutlOOEuropeana (settlers included), and 100 of the Wairoas, exclusive of Ihaka. The Mohaka Bettlers are coming in. It is not certain where Ihaka is. He was said to be making for Poverty Bay with some followers. If so, his main force will go to protect the respective settlements ; only 80 of them are armed.

The following is from another correspondent.: — Wellington, This Day, 12.30 p.m. The Eoening Post has juat received a telegram from Napier, dated 9.50 this morning. The St. Kilda arrived from Mohaka I at eleven o'clock on Saturday night. She brings two families, and report! all quiet. The Ahuriri arrived at one o'clock this morning. She reports that the Big River settlement has been destroyed. The rebels are in full force there — 500 strong. They shot four friendly Natives on Saturday, and when the Ahuriri left they had seven tied up ready for execution. The Europeans at Turanganui are entrenching themselves. Altogether, they number 25, with 200 friendly Natives. Broomfield's house has been burned. It is dangerous to leave Turanganui. The Ahuriri took refugees — women and children — and about 100 friendly Natives from "Wangawehi to Turanganui. She called in at "Waiapu, for Morgan's Natives. Morgan refused to go, saying he had enough to do to defend his own tribe and people, with the settlers near him.
