[bt electric telegraph.] Timaru, Oct. 29, 4.25 p.m. The Agricultural Show to-day waa a great success. In sheep, 112 pens were exhibited, and the merinos were said to be the best collection yet seen in the colony. The pnncipal prizetakers were Messra El worthy, Studholme, and Russell. The two firstnamed gained an equal number of points for the £50 cup, and the judges awarded it to Mr Studholme. Mr Russell gained the £25 cup for longwoolled. The gold medal for the best ram was taken by Mr Studholme. The gold medal for the best sample of wheat was carried off by Orari ; the second prize by Oamaru. There was a large number of visitors. The St. Kilda at Napier, reports that nearly 300 of Morgau's friendly natives have left the East Cape for the protection of Tauranga (Poverty Bay) and "Wai roa. Messrs Richmond and McLean are at Wairoa. There has been no fighting, and the rebels seem to be keeping out of the way.
