HAGLEY PARK ROAD.

TO TUB EDITOa OF THE BTAR. Sir, — In answer to a letter appearing in your paper yesterday evening, alluding to " Resident's" letter, allow me to insert a few more lines. The i 'ounclllors alluded to, instead of quietly acquiescing in the erection of a bridge over Armagh street should have opposed it, knowing as they must the expense it would incur, on account of the unevenness of the banks of the river ; besides having to raise the road to meet the bridge on the south side. A portion of the expense, according to their wishes, would have to come out of the ratepayers' pockets. I must confess I think it a short-sighted policy on the part of those who advocate the road to urge the Armagh street bridge, when partiality has been so much condemned before. I repeat, a road through the park would be a boon to all, increasing year by year ; and if, at tbe next meeting, they will consider a bridge over Worcester street, I have no doubt that the inhabitants on the north side of the river, south of Armagh street, as well aa those on the south side, and the centre of the town, taking in Cashel street as well, will subscribe as liberally as those at the north end of the town. There is not a proper traffic bridge from Victoria bridge to ifontreal street bridge, while in the vicinity of the Post Oflice there are two within 200 yards of each othc^r, and by having the Armagh street bridge (which would not benefit the centre of tbe town) there would be three within 250 yards of each other. Your obedient servant, A RESIDENT.
