Dunedin, This Day. The Tararua arrived at the Bluff late last night. She brings Australian news to Sept. 27. Rain has fallen generally over fche colony of Victoria. Californian shipments of flour have checked the local trade in Melbourne. The steamer Southland was sold to the Newcastle Steam Navigation Company for £9000. Mauritius news states that new sugars are coming to market very slowly. Newcastle coal is quoted at 6s 6d. The Golden Age and Rose of Australia arrived at Sydney on the 21st, from California, with breadstuff's. Californian advices state that the Savita had sailed for Otago with 17,000 quarter-casks flour, and the Britomart for Auckland, on July 23, with 650 tons wheat. Several ships were loading for the Australian colonies. Queensland is experiencing a severe drought. Several runs have been abandoned ; the sheep are dying ; no lambing. The latest advices from Adelaide report the breadstuff's market stagnant. Flour sold in small parcels at £14.
