[The following is the full telegram, an abstract of which appeared in our issue of yesterday.] [BT WEST COAST TELEGRAPH.] Melbourne, Sept. 19, The first instalment, £2000, has been sent to Thakombau to liquidate the American claim. Captain Middleton, of the barque Dayspring haa been committed for trial for neglecting to supply passengers according to the dietary scale. In the Assembly, the Railway Loan and Public Waterworks Bills have been passed. The report of the .Tones' committee has been published. The charges made by Alexander are not sustained. Tobin, a squatter, having threatened fco horsewhip a member named Longmore, an apology was sent to the Speaker, which was accepted. Parliament will be prorogued on Sept. 24. The Duke of Ediuburgh Theatre opens in October. Mr Roberts is the new lessee. The Tasmanian Parliament is prorogued. A detachment of the Royal Artillery left by the mail steamer for Ceylon. Mrs Singleton, matron of the Melbourne hospital, is dead. A second woollen cloth manufactory has been established at Geelong. A railway to Albury is definitely decided upon. Mr Harvie, a flour merchant, has called a meeting of his creditors ; liabilities, £10,000. The flour market is slightly improved. Trade parcels sold at £17 lOd ; good maize, 3s lld; New Zealand oats, 3s lld to 4s ; new teas are in demand. A hundred bushels of euri rants were sold at 3Jd : trade rate of ls ld is sustained. Fine tens tobaccos are in favour. Oilmen's stores are brisk. Flower's bottled ale, 9s 3d. At an auction of sugars, low rations fetched £23, bright rations, £25, low greys, £27, yellow crystals, £31 15s. Trade parcels of bloaters, 7s. Hermes. sy's case brandy, 275. Rice, £28Kerosine is brisk ; 3000 cases, Devoe's, have been sold at a price withheld ;
the demand for candles hqs slackened ; 10£ dis quoted for favourite brands. Blood's stout, 9s 6d. In the Tasmanian market, wheat is firm at 6s Gd. Flour, £15 to £16; oats, 2s 9d'; business dull. Sydney, Sept. 18. The Derby settling was successful. Tait received £1200 in stakes. The discovery of gold is reported in the Society Islands. The Governor has visited the Uni-| versity, and presented the Queen's books. The Great Metropolitan was won by the Barb ; Tim WhifEer second. Gold has been discovered near Kiama. Mr Lamb, Minister of Lands, Queensland, has resigned. He is succeeded by Mr Palmer, and Mr Hodgson for Public Works. The American Consulate has been robbed. Dr Carr, a mesmerist, has been remanded on a charge of assaulting a female under mesmeric influence. The Rifleman has arrived from Gibraltar, bringing a detachment of Artillery. Mr Parkes, Colonial Secretary, has resigned in consequence of the dismissal of Mr Duncan, Collector of Customs. Forty thousand cubic yards of rock have been displaced by a monster blast on the Western railway. Tahiti counter sugars, sold at £30 ss. Newcastle coal, 7s 9d per ton. Adelaide, Sept. 18. Five tons of the Alexandra* mine ore have been crushed, yielding 112 ounces of retorted .silver. Wheat, 6s to 6s 6d; flour sold at £15. j Rain is much wanted.
