THE MAORI KING APPROVES OF TITOKOWARU'S CONDUCT, AND CALLS ON ALL HAU-IIAUS TO RISE. This Day, 1.51 p.m. All houses and whares north of Manawapou,"that is, the whole district just abandoned, have been burnt. Patea correspondent of the Wanganui Times writes as follows : — " Wii en the Maori king heard of Tito kowaru's recent successes in the Patea district, he dreamed and saw visions. On arising from his slumbers he announced to thoso around him that he had received a message from the Maori god, highly approving of the conduct of Titokowaru, and ordering the king to call upon all Hauhaus throughout New Zealand to arise in October next, and extirpate the£a|e^/ Ejng has accordingly addressed a kind of edict to every Hau-hau chief throughout the Island, te rise in October, and make war upon the Europeans. Tt is said that the Governmont are in possession of one of these circulars." Whether this is only a new version of a story heard months ago, is not known. It is expected that Colonel Haultain will pive information when the House meets tonight.
