The second remit is “that the Dominion Federation of the Y.F.C. approach the N.Z.A.A.A. with regard to making arrangements whereby members of file Association, who are also Y.F.C. members, may compete at Y.F.C. sports meetings without being disqualified from the Amateur Athletics Association.’’ 1
Debating Teams
The debating teams to represent the Club in the district competition were announced as follows: A team —Messrs. B. Vant, R. Bowman and K. Conway. B team- —Messrs. R. Walter, 1. Kendrick and 1). Payne. C team—Messrs. R. Vant, S. Iloiieyfield and J. Lux ford. In the first round, with the subject “that New Zealand should expand -her secondary industries in preference to her primary industries,’’ the A team will have the affirmative against Welcome Bay B team at Welcome Bay, while the B team will have the ifide against the Welcome Bav A team at Paengaroa, and the C team the affirmative against Omokoroa at Omokoroa. The round is to be completed by 81st March. As the next meeting is the annual one, nominations wore taken for officers for the ensuing year. This part of the meeting consisted mainly of declined nominations, a verv disappointing feature in a Club of sixty members. However, there was finally one nomination for each office as follows: Senior advisory member, Mr J. B. Cawte: chairman, Air B. Vant; vice-chairman. Air P. Hickson, secretary. Air R. Bowman; treasurer. A*?r Al. Cawte: press reporter. Air J. Snodgrass. Field Day at Horotiu Field Day is to be held at the Horotiu freezing works on I l’iday Alarch 21st, when the carcases of the pigs in the Y.F.C'. porker competition will be on display. Air W. Fea outlined some helpful suggestions fdr the concert which the Club proposes to hold towards the end of April. After discussion it-was decided to have a special meeting'of those interested. on Alarcli 18th to make further arrangements. The annual meeting is to lie held on Tuesday, Ist April.
