LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

BIRTHDAY MEETING

The ninth Birthday party of the League of Mothers was held in the Parish Hall on Thursday. 18th Alarch. Airs F. R. Mitchell presided over a fair attendance, six members being' present from the Tauriko branch. The meeting - opened with the singing of “God Defend New Zealand.” Airs Mitchell welcomed the visitors and members and read the Aims and Objects. A letter was read from Airs Rhodes. ' . , It was decided that Airs Mitchell should represent the branch at the 21st Birthday in Auckland on March 25th. Mrs R. Brown gave the thought for the Month, and Father Yon Hotter gave a very interesting address, which was very much appreciated, on “the Sins of the World.” He was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Entertainment was provided by Airs Alelville (Tauriko), Airs J. Cleary and Airs P. Twigs:, who sang popular songs, which were very much enjoyed. A sumptuous afternoon tea was provided by members of tbe Committee after which the ceremony of cutting the beautiful birthday cake was proceeded with. Airs Mitchell asked Airs AlcLean (Tauriko) to light the candles and Mrs A Grill to blow them out. She then called on Airs Keys to cut the cake. Airs Keys being the first president when tbe branch was formed nine years The meeting' closed with the League Hymn.
