OTAMARAKAU NOTES

BIBLE CLASS SOCIAL (Own Correspondent) On Monday evening, 14th inst#;, a gathering of about 120 members and friends met in the Otamarakau Hall to attend the annual social of the Otamarakau Bible Class. Visitors were present from Edgecumbe, Awakeri, Te Teko, Matata and Paengaroa, and were welcomed by Mr Colin Cassels, leader of the Otamarakau Bible Class.

Mr Cassels, to whom the success of the evening's entertainment was largely due, performed his duties as organiser and M.C. in a very efficient manner. The long programme ol games and competitions, together with musical items etc., was carried out without a hitch and was thoroughly enjoyed oy all. , The introductory game of “Are You Lady X?” caused much amusement and quickly created a friendly atmosphere. Musical items were rendered by the following :Vocal solo (accompanied by Miss J. Lee, violin, and Mrs Lee at the piano)—Mrs H. Read ; Highland dance, Miss Pauline Law and Miss Dorothy Gunton; Recitation —Miss E. Martin ; Violiri solo—Miss J. Lee; Song—Misses E. Pat tie. S. Woolsey, 1.. Mikkelsen and D. Gunton; Tap uan.ee—Miss ;S. Law and Miss M. Mortonsen; Dance, Russian Gopak—Miss I. Mikkelsen. Competitions were won hv two visits ing. members. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies of the Otamarakau Bible Class. Mr Cassels closed the gathering with a short devotional service.
