The annual social of the Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held in the Church on Wednesday evening last. Weather conditions prevented many venturing out-of-doors, but, notwithstanding, there was a very fair attendance, and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. The evening commenced with community singing, after which songs were rendered by Mrs Darvill, guitar items by Messrs L. Shepherd and B. Johnstone, and an accordeon selection by Mr L. Shepherd. Competitions and |games were entered into by all, the winners of the former being Leola Hansen, Mr McCarthy and Mr L. Shepherd. A dainty supper was provided by the Guild members, and full justice was done the good things supplied. After Mrs Hansen, President of the Guild, had thanked members for the assistance given her during tho year, the evening hvas brought to a close with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.”
