THOROUGH OF GREY LYNN. SPECIAL ORDER MAKING BY-LAW'S, NO 2. Public notice is hereby Riven that at a Spe ial Meeting of the Grey Lynn Borough Council, to beheld in the Council Chamber, Rose Road, Grty Lynn, on SATUKDAV, 22nd day of April 1905, a Resolution will be submitted for the confirmation of the following Special Order made at a Special Meeting of the said Council on the 23rd day of March, 1905, viz. :— " That the Grey Lynn Borough Council doth hereby by Special Resolution intended to operate as a Special Order, make the following By laws, to be known as ' The Grey Lynn Borough Council By laws, No 2.' " (Here follows the By-laws.) . The object or purport of the said Bylaws is as follows : — Part 1 repeals all By-laws heretofore made by the said Council, with the exception of Bylaw No. 1, regulating the collection and disposal of " Offensive matter " within the Borough; contains the general interpretation clause ; defines the manner of nerving notices ; and provides a penalty of not exceeding £20 for any breach of any of the f-y laws, and £5 per day for any continuous breach thereof Part 2, in respect of buildings, regulates the erection of, addition, or alteration to and repair of buildings, prohibits the erection of buildings not having a frontage to a street, and fixes sundry fees to be paid in connection therewith. Part 3. in respect of streets and street traffic, regulates the erection, construction, and maintenance of porticos, verandahs, awnings, and other projections, erection of flag signs, sign boards or cither similar things, encroachment or overhanging of trees or shrubs, fixing names of streets on buildings, construction of drains under footways, eonstruc6i«n and repair of crossings over footways, deposit of building or other material, erection and maintenance of builders' hoardings, scaffolding, ladders, etc., wandering, depasturing, and driving of cattle, riding of bicycles, drivin •» of vehicles, loitering of persons, assembly of persons, street cries, betting, spitting, and other similar things, and fixes sundry feesi and charges to be paid in respect of such mattiers. Drainage.— ln respect of sanitation and nuisances, regulates the construction of drains and water closets, disposal of refuse and manure, keeping of poultry, provides for the 1i enxing of drain connectors, and plumbers, and fixes sun'lry fees and charges to be paid in respect of such matters Water Supply.— ln respect of waterworks, determines the ordinary and t xtraordinary suppliese, provides for the licensing of plumbers, regulates the laying of pipes, use of fittings, supply and use of water, forbids damage to any part of the water works, waste of water, contamination of the water, and fixes sundry rates, fees and charges to be paid in connection with such matters. Public Health— ln respect of public health and convenience, forbids the discharge of offensive matter from any premises into or upon any street, or the carrying on of noxious trades. Prevention of Fires —In respect of prevention of tires, regulates the storage of inflammable materials, and of dangerous good?, lighting of tires, and burning of rubbish, and fixes sundry license fees to be paid in respect of such matters Buildings for Public Meetings —In respect of buildings for public meetings, fixes the feeE to be paid for licenses for the same, and regu lates the use and lighting of such buildings. Billiard Rooms Shooting Galleries, etcIn respect af billiard rooms, bagatelle rooms bowling or skittle alleys, or shooting galleries regulates the licensing of such rooms, and the closing thereof, and the admission of personi thereto, and fixes the license fees to b< paid.
