HAWERA.
The weather was not very favourable for our races. On the lawn the ladies whom I consider looked best were : Mrs Riddiford, neat costume of black with red spots ; Mr 3 Major, one very similar, hat to match ; Mrs Clarke, navy serge, large feather hat to match (stylish) ; Mrs Nolan, brown and orange, has looked better on other occasions ; Mrs Butler, in fawn and gold, looked stylish ; Miss Goodson, pretty brown cashmere; Mrs W. Brewer, black silk ; Mis3e3 T. and D. Tait, black.. .Is Miss T. (the coming Ruth) contralto or otherwise ? I hear she was encored at the concert the other evening. Only what I have' been told, you know. • . Miss T. and Mr P. have at last tied the fatal knot. The bride looked nice in creme silk, also her sister in cream nun'sveiling. The disparity of costumes between the bridal party and guests was very noticeable.. .Feminine quarrels the
sole topic of interest here just now.
Very anxious in this quarter to know who the O.M. is. Can you enlighten us ?. . On dit that a divorce case is on the tapis. Plenty of news then... l hear Miss L.W. and C.G. are the next who will tie the nuptial knot.. .The O.M. is about on dark nights. Look out.
