HERBERTVILLE.
8.8. and Miss M.W. are all the talk now. Surely it is time he had bought the bit of gold ?.. How is it that no one is doing a mash at the hotel ? If she is not tasty enough for our boys, I think Bhe is a fair charmer.. .What makes R.W. come down to the hotel so often, is it to see a certain young lady ? I didn't think you were so • soft 8., because she is only having you 0n. . . Three young men whilst walking down the street the other night, were overheard asking each other if they thought that J.D. had any Bhow with Miss
R.H., but J.D. said he was going to give up mashing and going to balls, and P.B. was asking J.D. if he thought he stood any show with Miss M.W. and F.H. was reckoning that he was the best hand in the town at mashing, and that all the girls about here liked him, but the O.M. thinks he ought to take one more lesson in mashing and then retire.. .A few young ladies whilst having a confidential yarn to themselves in this town, were chatting about A.D. but one of them said she thought he was a little too old-fashioned to be a Bchool : boy. Little they thought that the O.M. was close handy. ..A.H. is Btill running the mash, in a quiet way with Miss F.S. . .Four youngsters are talking of hiring a pier glass to admire themselves in before going to roost... A. W. says he would like to find out who the O.M. is. No use, old man...E.W. says he wishes someone would take Miss E.W. off his hands, because he is getting sick of mashing with the same girl. Perhaps he would like to have a cut in with Miss K.H. ?.. MiBS Gf.H. used to say before she took her departure for the South Island, that she was balle of the town and that sha had nothing to do but lift her little finger, and all the young men would run round her.
..What'B making A.J. stop away so long? You will be getting cut out if you don't look out.. .It is time S.W. and N.C. were tying the fatal knot, isn't it?.. What's H.H.s attraction in going down to Akeito every Sunday ?
