KUAOTUNU,

Seeing that your worthy correspondent of the 2nd inst. did not mention the gentlemen in his report re ihe bachelors' ball, I think I will be only doing justice by sending you a few details about them with regard to their dress and behaviour. MrW. Meikle, black suit, standup collar, gold albert, white gloves, looked very well ; Mr W. Sewell, black suit, clawhammer coat twice too long for him ; Mr Denis Began, black morning coat and pants, white vest, gold albert, white gloves, looked very neat indeed (rather too quiet, so the ladies said) ; Mr William Jones, black coat and pants, white vest and gloves, very becoming ; Mr Fred Meikle, black coat and pants, white vest and gloves, gold albert, put on too much jam ; Mr Charles Kean, dark tweed suit, patent leather dancing pumps, tried to cut the dandy too much ; Mr Charles McCormick, dark suit, % hite gloves, not bad — kept his feet too far apart when waltzing; Mr Alick Peebles, black suit, white gloves, gold albert, looked very prominent ; Mr Walter Calloway, dark suit, gave himself away trying to step-dance; MrH. Mounce, dark suit, white gloves, acquitted himself in first-class style; Mr B. Ingles, dark suit, white gloves (bad dancer though) ; Mr Arthur Prescott, too utterly too-too.
