TE AWAMUTU.
The Skating Rink is again flourishing in Te Awamutu. Very unfortunate of the manager to have sprained his wrist while skating. ' ciather awkward, was it not, George ?' Why did the elite favour us with their very pleasant appearance on the stage the other week ? Was it to watch the skaters or learn to dance the first set of quadrilles? Alick and Mary, from the corner, seem to want all the floor to themselves while dancing the polka. Please give someone else a show. Very kind of G-eorge to pay such attention to Ellen at the rink. Be careful, George, or you will get your hair pulled. What makes the coal-dealer's son look so disconsolate of late? Is it through Molly's departure, or that George has cut him out. Never mind, Bill, there is still a chance. Why has Tilly left us so soon ? Is it because the ' Voice ' has ceased to whisper and.is turning ' North ' wards. Too bad of Jack to give up the little school teacher for her fair sister. It is a long ' Layne ' that has no turning.
