We make every endeavour to strike out itema which seem objectionab c, a* id to assist us in this we would like if all who are annoyed by references in these columns would write to us, whea we shall see that nothing likely to off end them is allowed to appear in future. The Observer's object is to entertain and amuse— never to offend either in feeling or taste.
