1 A Merry Christmas, my dear OBSERVER,' says a new correspondent from this quarter. 'We have had great fun out oi you this year, and I hope yon will open your columns a little more to us next year.' The young Symonds-street painter had bad luck the other Sunday in arriving too late, but timed it to a nicety last Sunday. It's a good walk out though, is it not, George? . . The girls have given over patronising the good-looking inspector's car, as he has not bought a new tie for a week now.
