Ball at Baglan.

A most enjoyable dance was held in Powell's Hall, Baglan, on 26th inst. The weather was all that could be desired, and the attendance large. Dancing commenced at eight p.m., and was kept up with spirit till the " wee short hours." The refreshments provided by Mr Sutton would have tempted the most fastidiou3. Mr Charlie Moon officiated as M.O. The ladies looked exquisite — the following being some of the dresses worn : —Miss Akers, pretty brown dress trimmed with velvet ; Mrs Bulford, dark green velvet ; Mrs Bennett, black silk ; Miss Bash, white muslin trimmed with cardinal satin, gloves to match ; Miss Cogswell, pale blue nun's veiling trimmed with white lace ; Misa Donaldson, cream canvas cloth trimmed with blue velvet ; Miss Haverfield, pretty white dress ; Miss Kescel, black dress with red ribbons ; Miss Mitchell, pink gingham ; Miss Moon, cream and blue; Mrs Id. La Trobe, black dress trimmed with velvet ; Miss La Trobe, cream skirt, black velvet bodice, scarlet ribbons ; Miss Pegler, white muslin trimmed with red satin ; Mrs Bobertson, looked charming in a grey dress ; the Misses Kobertson, brown dresses trimmed with velvet ; Mrs Sutton, brown dress : Miss Sutton, black dress with red ribbons ; Miss Hetty Sutton, wine coloured jersey, and black skirt ; Mrs Sewell, pretty brown . dress/, Mrs "Vercoe, grey dress ; Miss Vercoe, black cachemire trimmed with red velvet; 'Mrs T. Wilson, brown dress trimmed with satin ; Miss Wilson, dark brown dress ; Miss J. Wilson, striped dress. They all looked so charming that it would be difficult for any one to decide who was the belle. — (A correspondent.) Another correspondent pronounces Mis 3J. Bush to have been belle of, the belles.
